Our Walk to Starbucks

I was inspired by Rachel and Deana, and wanted to add my experience as well!

So here I am, joining the fun wagon of posting my walk to Starbucks, in Thousand Oaks, California. I am a nanny, and I work at a home in Thousand Oaks. My babies and I love to go for walks, especially if it includes coffee (for me) and the playground (for them). It’s about 30 minutes from the house to the coffee shop, with a park trip somewhere in the middle. So here we go!

Michael and Summer can load themselves in the stroller now — so nice!

One of my favorite little windows of scenery tucked under the freeway, inbetween tract homes. I think fairies live here.

This path leads to the park and is a small shortcut on our way to my place of addiction.

Here we are enjoying a warm brew and the morning paper

Here’s a stop at the park on the way home. Can you see the puffy white clouds, feel the light breeze, savor the mild temperatures? Come on out and play with us!

And here’s a pic with one of our favorite Starbucks baristas, Jenna. This is at another location that we also frequent quite often and have made lots of friends here despite our mess and loud voices

I’d love to see a photo journal of your favorite walk!

I love Michael!
Nice to see photos of Thousand Oaks that I don’t normally see (like the place the faires live!)

Staci, how was the birthday dinner? Does your bro have teeth yet? (heehee)

stacijoy

Birthday dinner was fine… as usual for family gatherings, Kristin and I stole all the attention. Or perhaps I should put it this way — we made it fun (at lease WE were laughing!). Ooops… it was my brother’s birthday and here I am posting pics of Kris and myself! Oh well. No, Joel doesn’t have front teeth still. It might be a really long time before he can afford to get them fixed, poor guy! At least his girlfriend still likes him!

stacijoy,

I enjoyed your virtual walk although I’m not sure how you got from the countryside in one pic to the interior of an urban starbucks in another… that frustrated my brain… not sure what that says about me.

We also used to have fairies under the freeway till the cops clamped down.

Nooc… sorry to confuse you! I thought about it later, that I should have included a more urban shot. The 30 minute walk is actuallly made entirely along semi-busy streets, a glass littered sidewalk with struggling flowers in the bits of dirt. I simply chose to portray my favorite little glimpses of beauty along the route since most of the scenery is dull and city-ish.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your fairies… have you discovered where they went?

Sam.

Cool pics, Staci! Thanks for sharing.

eve
